![]() ![]() Either way, early on I did most of my farming in Act 2, mostly because Act 1 has a limit of 10 orbs and by the time you start getting orbs, you can easily get 15 or 20 (or even 30 in act 3) before it's time to leave camp. Prioritize placing swamps around the Bookeries, the regular Vampires are easy enough without them but you really want to counteract the healing the Mages have.I didn't even realize a fight of 4 had a 5% chance like saintzach said, I just assumed it was only 5+ enemies lol. Swapping a lot of cards also helps you get your Swamps up faster, as well as getting Thickets and Rivers to ramp up Attack Speed. The Vampire Mages give some of the best drops you'll see, which is key to snowballing the Necro. The Unseen Care and Laying Down One's Life traits are priorities, getting one or both lets you be much more flexible.ģ) Place the Bookeries at U-bends or corners to deplete them quickly. It may be worth sacrificing good effects like +1 Skeleton or %Quality for more Magic HP. Any HP damage you take will likely stay that way until you complete a loop or hit a Village, so keep a close eye on how often your Magic HP is dropping. It also includes traits like Surveyor, Blissful Ignorance, and Residual Heat (not Ambitions of the Dead though, oddly enough)Ģ) Get the highest Magic HP amulet possible. This includes supply items, such as Cheese. It will slowly kill you, and your only consistent healing can come from the campfire or village tiles. You need good +# Skeleton and good %Quality to get Skeleton mages and their magic damage, and without them, enemy Skeletons can be hard to take care of.ġ) Avoid anything that gives Regen or healing like the plague. Lanterns are a necessity if using Cemetaries, try not to let more than 2 Skeletons spawn on a single tile. Use these to take it up a notch late in the run, be careful of using them before you have Unseen Care/Lay Down One's Life. The Chrono Crystals are kind of optional, you'll almost always have two Mosquitos spawn by the time you make it back around, plus the Vamp Mages makes for consistent 5 enemy fights. Vampires are slightly harder, at the very least I would not combine them with Skeletons. ![]() Placing Bookeries around to add an extra Tome enemy to the fight is fine. Either way, I would recommend not fighting the Vamp Mages when not over a Swamp. You can use Groves for placing the Blood Groves and not run Cemetaries/Villages, but I like having the better loot from Skeletons early in the run before Im getting Vamp Mages, or otherwise the healing from Villages. Once I've triggered the Lich, I Oblivion the extra forest whenever I want the extra %5 insta-kill window (generally before Hunter boss, if not before Priest). I tend to place only one Blood Grove down, in range of the campfire, using a Forest tile because it covers up an extra spot where the Lich's Palace can spawn. The Fishmen can be tough in packs though, don't overlap too many reeds or you may get risky fights with no Mosquitos.įor the other cards, I run Oblivion, Blood Groves, oftentimes Chrono Crystals, and Lanterns if using Cemetaries. You can consider running your River along the path to make Reeds for Fishmen, which when combined with the Mosquitos and Mages often means you can fight 7 enemies per fight (more enemies = higher chance for a single enemy to drop OoE and more opportunities for an enemy to drop it). I bring Suburbs too, to quickly get to Necro's survival traits, but be careful not to place too many that you trigger the boss early. Thickets and Rivers are your landscape cards forever and always with Necro. As long as you still have a bit of Magic HP left, it will take all the explosion damage. Additionally, the Mosquito enemies from Swamps will explode and kill everything, making all the extra enemies fairly trivial. Your battles should all be taking place on Swamp tiles, so the Vampirism regeneration will instead slowly damage everything. ![]() This counts as an extra THREE enemies per battle. Vamp Mages turn into Tome enemies when their health is depleted, and also spawn Bats when they hit half health (Act 2 and beyond). When an Abandoned Bookery aura overlaps with a Vamp Mansion aura, it adds a Vampire Mage to any battle in the overlapping auras. cemetaries also work well if you can generate skeleton mages consistently to do magic damage, or dont mind Oblivion-ing them late game.īring Vampire Mansions and Bookeries. You'll need another path tile, villages are pretty good for the healing, but ghouls, bandits, and quest monsters can be a pain. Best way I found to get OoE is with Necro.īasic strat is to cover (most of) the loop in swamps.
